Northwestern University Postdoc Union (NUPU-UE) is a group of your fellow postdocs and Research Associates at NU, committed to advocating for our rights and supporting each other as workers. One of the most simple yet impactful and direct ways to push us towards unionization is by becoming a Building Organizer (BO). As a BO, you’ll join a team of fellow postdocs and Research Associates in your building/department to achieve real, positive changes. Building Organizers work together to ensure everyone can contribute in ways that fit their availability and capacity. The role is very flexible, and at any level of involvement, we’re excited to organize alongside you. 

Responsibilities include:

• Being up-to-date with NUPU campaigns and efforts.

• Relaying concerns of workers in your building/department to the NUPU Organizing Committee.

• Engaging your building/department’s membership in major NUPU actions.

We have training and resources ready to help you get started and onboarded, as well as experienced organizers ready to work with you in your building/department! No prior experience required!
